Reading is Fundamental
RIF is America's oldest and largest children's literacy organization. Through its nationwide network of community-based projects, RIF works to prevent illiteracy by providing books for young people to choose and own at no cost to them or their families.

Three books distributions are scheduled during the Head Start program year.

Parents are involved in choosing the books that are purchased and reading books to their children after the child has chosen the book.
