Referral Referrals to food shelves, food support programs, and Senior Dining/Meals on Wheels programs. Garden Seed A distribution of donated vegetable seeds and food preservation materials to promote food self-sufficiency. Seeds distributed through local food shelves. |

Educational Support Services assists students beyond high school with a small portion of costs associated with books, tuition or supplies when enrolled in an accredited school. |

For individuals or families trying to maintain their housing through a temporary crisis - We may be able to assist families faced with foreclosure or eviction due to temporary involvement with family; direct assistance; strong planning and case management component. For individuals or families who are homeless - Emergency shelter for the homeless while searching for permanent housing. There must be enough income into the household to make the search reasonable. - Assistance with the costs of moving into a new place for individuals and families with sufficient income to maintain the home once settled. |

Loans of up to $500 to assist with vehicle repair or other transportation-related expenses. Loan must be paid back. Applicants must be working or attending a post-secondary school. |

A free program being implemented in Aitkin County, designed to build formal and informal support systems to assist the transition from public assistance to self-sufficiency. Families are assisted in recruiting community partners that can help them move in positive directions. |

This initiative in Carlton county is designed to provide resources to families who have significant barriers and want to end their reliance on MFIP. Together, advocates and participants navigate the various resources (mental health, social services, housing, legal, etc) necessary to address their barriers.
