Casual dress for Food Shelf Support

 

Twice per month the Agency’s staff make personal donations to the service area’s food shelves.   Staff may wear casual dress if they bring an item to donate to a food shelf.

Hundreds of pounds of food items have been donated throughout the seven county area.

Staff make personal financial contributions towards the purchase of long distance calling cards for service personnel who may not otherwise be able to keep in touch with their families.

Donation jars (piggy banks) have been setup and staff participate in this fundraiser to help with program services for those families in crisis.

To many people, Lakes and Pines CAC is a private, non-profit that provides services for lower-income families and individuals in East Central Minnesota.  Many folks already know that the Agency has very  dedicated staff who respond daily to the effects of poverty in our local area;  families and individuals who cannot meet their basic needs or who may be homeless.  But few people realize that Lakes and Pines’ staff are responding to the devastating effects of  the Gulf Region Hurricanes  (Katrina and Rita), floods in southern Minnesota, as well as other disaster areas.

 

Your local Community Action Agency – Lakes and Pines CAC – provided support through volunteer efforts and donations to assist with the rebuilding of peoples lives and communities in these devastated areas.  Contact Lakes and Pines CAC to learn more about CAre  in Action.
